Classroom Rules and Expectation
I expect my students to be respectful to one another, follow any directions given by me and have an adventure every day!Homework Grading Policy
Your child will be given a homework sheet at the beginning of the week with a reading on one side and 16 questions on the other side. They are welcome to do this throughout the week or all in one sitting. It is to be turned in on Friday. They will have a written response quiz on this on Fridays. They will also be given vocabulary flash cards every Monday that they will be tested on on Fridays as well so they are expected to study those at home.
Their weekly spelling words will be passed out and discussed on Mondays and tested on Fridays.
Weekly Journals Policy
Students will have an assigned a journal day that they are to turn in their completed journals. They will need to have this completed before class on that day. Students are given time in class the day prior to when it is due to work on it. If the journal is turned in on time and is an appropriate length they will receive a 100%. If the journal is incomplete or turned in the next day or later in the day it was due they will receive a 50%. If the journal is not turned in the next day it will be a 0%.In the front of every child's journal is a yellow sheet that has some journal starter sentences if they get stuck and do not know what to write about. I also have a reminder checklist available to them to glue in if they need it as a reminder of what an appropriate journal entry consists of.
